Maipo x Kit and Looker

First litter for Maipo!  Four puppies born July 18, which is the same day Nadia Comăneci made history by scoring the first ever Perfect 10 in Gymnastics at the Olympic Games on the women's uneven bars.  In honor of this memorable event, the pups will be named after Comăneci and the important figures in her life.

We tried something different when be bred Maipo for this litter; we used two different sires to produce a dual sired litter!  Maipo was bred solely via AI, with several breedings to Kit and just one to Looker.  And it worked!!  We officially have puppies sired by each male in this litter!   
  • There is a smooth black and tan female, Nadia, which only could have been sired by Looker, as two longhairs bred together can't produce a smooth. That and two creams bred together can't produce tan points. 
  • The shaded cream male, Károlyi,  had to have been sired by Kit.  Cream is recessive, so a pup must get a copy of cream from each parent to be cream.  As Looker doesn't carry cream and can't produce a cream pup. 
  • The other two girls, Márta and Teodora, appear to have cream points, which means they were sired by Kit.  Sometimes it can be hard to determine for sure if points are tan or cream just by visual appearance alone, so I wouldn't rule out the possibility they could be Looker pups.   
 Registering a dual sired litter through AKC is expensive, takes quite a while, and not necessary for pets so this litter with NOT be AKC registered.

Puppy Sale Details

  • Puppy price is $1,500 and up.  Each puppy is priced individually after birth based on a variety of factors.   
  • All prices listed are for PETS not to be used for breeding.  Pre-paid AKC LIMITED registration is included.  In general, we do not sell puppies with full registration.   **THIS PARTICULAR LITTER WILL NOT BE AKC REGISTERED**
  • A $250 deposit holds your puppy until he or she is 9 weeks old and ready to go.     Please note that we cannot hold a puppy without a deposit, so until you have paid the deposit, someone else may purchase the puppy. 
  • We allow visitors by appointment once puppies are six weeks old and have had their first vaccination.  Prior to that, we'd be happy to share photos and videos with you.
  • Every puppy will come with an AKC Reunite Microchip, and lifetime pre-paid enrollment is included. 
  • Puppies are dewormed at 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks of age.  First Distemper vaccination is given at 6 weeks of age, and a second one at 9 weeks.
  • Puppies go to the vet for an exam between 8 and 9 weeks of age before leaving to go to their new homes. 
  • You can pick up your puppy at our home in Burlington, North Carolina.  Shipping is also available within the continental US for approximately $350-$500.  
  • We do not keep a waiting list.  Puppies typically become available for deposit once they are a couple weeks old.  This lets us accurately determine coat types and ensure all pups are healthy and thriving.   
  • Folks that have an approved application on file will be considered first when pups become available.  After that, those signed up for the mailing list will be notified.
