​The Purchasing Process

Thank you for your interest in a Bright Doxies puppy. We work very hard to produce the best quality puppies, and therefore want the best homes for our puppies.    As the process varies from one breeder to the next, let’s walk through the steps to purchase a Bright Doxies puppy. 

Step 1: Fill out an application.    Submitting an application, even if it is approved, does not guarantee you a puppy, nor does it ‘hold a place in line’ for a puppy.   

Step 2: Wait to receive an email announcing puppy availability.   While you wait, you can always check for updates on our Planned Breedings tab to see upcoming pairings, who has been bred, who has been confirmed pregnant, etc. 

Step 3: Reach out to us via phone or email to let us know you are interested in the puppy.  We can discuss details, confirm availability, determine whether the puppy is a best fit for your family.  

Step 4:  Place a $500 non-refundable deposit to hold your puppy until s/he is 9 weeks old and ready to go.  Deposits can be made via PayPal, Venmo, ApplePay, Zelle or check.   The deposit goes toward the  total purchase price.

Step 5: Enjoy pictures and videos provided of your puppy while still here with us.  We do allow visitors by appointment once puppies are six weeks of age. 

Step 6:  Pick your puppy up at 9-10 weeks of age.  The balance due may be paid via the above listed electronic methods, or cash.  Please no checks at pick up.    

Two Options for Approved Applicants

1) General Mailing List.  No cost, no obligation.  This is the best option for folks who are

• just browsing
• not sure exactly what they are looking for or open to many color, coat and gender combinations
• not ready for a puppy at this point in time
• are considering purchasing from other breeders.   

Group emails will be sent out to ALL approved applicants announcing availability, typically when pups are at least a few weeks old.  The puppy will be reserved to the first approved applicant to respond and place the $500 deposit.   Our puppies are typically reserved very quickly, in as little as a few hours of sending out the availability announcement.   Please note that puppies will only be available to our General Mailing List if they have been passed on by our Priority Waiting List families.
 
2) NEW!! Priority Waiting List.   $200 fee required to hold your place in line for the exact puppy you want.     This is the best option for folks that

• are certain they want a Bright Doxies puppy
• have a specific color, coat, and gender combination in mind
• are ready to purchase now, but are willing to wait up to one year for their perfect puppy
• understand the total purchase price for a puppy is $2,500 - $3,000 with creams and dapples being at the high end.   Pre-Paid AKC Limited Registration included (pet only, no breeding rights)

A $200 non-refundable fee is required to be placed on this list. Please note that we will only accept a deposit if we anticipate having a puppy that meets your criteria within one year.   We plan our breedings - within the guidelines of health, conformation and temperament - to fulfill the requests on the Priority Waiting List. Sometimes your puppy will become available in as little as a few weeks and sometimes it may take up to a year.  Please note that there is just one waitlist, and it is based on the puppy you are looking for.  In other words, there is not a separate waitlist for each upcoming breeding.  For example, I can't put you on a waitlist for a 'Brava x Looker' puppy because there is no such list. 
 
By signing up for the Priority Waiting List you agree to the following conditions:
1) The $200 fee to be on this Priority List is non-refundable**.  It can be paid via Venmo, PayPal, ApplePay, Zelle or check. 
2) You will be notified via email when a puppy that fits your specifications becomes available. We will notify those in the order that the $200 fee is received. Example: If Claire, Rob and Allison all want a longhair cream female, then the person who sent their fee first will receive first choice.
3) Once contacted regarding a puppy you will then have 24 hours to decide if you want that puppy.
4) Once you choose a puppy then the $200 waiting list fee will convert to a non-refundable deposit for that puppy and goes towards the total purchase price. You will also be asked to pay an additional $300 at that point, bringing the total deposit price to $500.
**If one year passes and I have not produced a puppy that meets your criteria, you would have the option to have your deposit refunded.  If you have passed on any puppies during the year that did meet your criteria, the deposit will not be refunded.   ​
